Albert Schaffhauser

Albert Schaffhauser, 86, of Camp Hill and formerly of New Cumberland passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2013 in the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence.

At the age of 24, Albert emigrated to the US in 1951 from Austria. He retired after 28 years as an accomplished Master Craftsman, Cabinet Maker and Project Manager of the former E.C. Snyder, Inc. Lumber & Planning Mill of Harrisburg. He was a 44-year member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland, lifetime member of Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Queenship Council 4068, Camp Hill, and the St. Lawrence Club, Steelton.

Albert was born in Djulaves, Croatia to the late Josef and Theresia (Maticka) Schaffhauser.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Lang) Schaffhauser; a daughter Betty A. Gallagher and husband Dan Gallagher of Mechanicsburg; a son Rick Schaffhauser of Pine, CO; a brother Jakob Schaffhauser of Lake Worth, FL; and three grand children, Megan E. Gallagher, Shivonne M. Gallagher, and Alex J. Schaffhauser.

Albert is preceded in death by a sister Helena Schaffhauser of Germany, brother Gustav Schaffhauser of Germany, and brother Anton Schaffhauser of Austria.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at St. Theresa Parish. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Township.
