Albertina Kozlovksy Grooms

Albertina Kozlovsky Grooms was born on March 9, 1928, to Joseph Michael and Agnes Zgarba Kozlovsky in Mesquite, TX. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 11, 2018.

Albertina was the wife of the evangelist, J.O. Grooms, who predeceased her on April 5, 2010. After they moved to Lynchburg, VA, she served as the first Dean of Women at Lynchburg Baptist College (Liberty University). She raised her 5 children to know and love God and set the example of God’s grace and love before them every day of her life. She was indeed the Proverbs 31 woman and “her children rise up and call her blessed” (Prov. 31:28).

She is survived by a brother, Bernard Kozlovsky of Rockwall, TX and her 5 children, Lynda Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; Michael Grooms (Edith) of Roanoke, VA; Beverly Riggins (Ronnie) of Lewisberry, PA; Mark Grooms (Renee) of Lynchburg, VA; and Janet Baldis (Charles) of Slovakia; 15 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, at 1338 Rainbow Forest Drive, Troutville, VA. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The service can also be viewed at https://www.rainbowforest.com/media.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Global Partners in Peace and Development, https://www.gpartners.org/ P.O. Box 117, Blue Ridge, VA, that will be used for a clean water well in India and will be dedicated in Albertina Grooms’ memory in January, 2019.
