Allen Lee Whitteker, 65, of Carlisle, died Friday, October 27, 2023 at his home.
A devout Christian, he enjoyed sharing his faith with others, welcoming the opportunity to pray with, or for others. He attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Al grew up hunting and fishing which sparked his love for the outdoors. His most recent passion was riding motorcycles with his best friend, Jack Strohecker. He recently retired as the Care Facilitator from Community Aid. He loved taking care of his Community Aid family, whether that was a maintenance issue at a store, or a call for prayer from a valued employee/friend, he felt blessed and was so thankful to serve.
A graduate of Halifax High School, he attended MTA where he received his HVAC Certification. He previously worked at Fruehauf, Morrison, Inc, and Halifax Area School District where he served as Director of Buildings and Property for over 18 years. Al loved his family and friends passionately and had a positive effect on the lives of countless people.
He was born August 26, 1958 in Wellsboro, PA, to Gloria Fenstermacher and the late Claude Whitteker. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his other mother, Joanne Fuhrman, brother-in-law, Christopher Lee, and father-in-law, Carl Poffenberger.
In addition to Gloria, he is survived by his wife, Kendra A. Whitteker; sons, Wesley Allen Whitteker of Mechanicsburg, Garret Michael Whitteker (Sarah) of Camp Hill, and Gavin Matthew Whitteker (Nicolette) of Boynton Beach, FL; brothers, Richard Whitteker (Deb) of Tower City, Joe Whitteker (Sue) of Rome, NY, Andy Whitteker of Halifax, and Bruce Cox (Deb) of Lawrenceville; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Lee and Gay Boyer (Bradley); brother-in-law, Gary Poffenberger (Marci); mother-in-law Beverly Poffenberger; and grandchildren, Cash, Van, Michaela, Logan, Grey, Langston, Oakleigh, Jude, and Emory; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held at 10am Friday, November 3rd at Aldersgate United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 11am.
