Anita C. Pryor, 83, of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Holy Spirit Hospital surrounded by family and supported by an abundance of prayers. Her faith gave her strength and comfort throughout her life, and especially this past year. Her greatest joys in life were time spent with family & friends and in helping others.
She was a retired Librarian with the Harrisburg School District and a former supervisor for Burrelle’s Clipping Service, Harrisburg; a member of St. Theresa Parish’s Little Flower Club and the West Shore Senior Center, both of New Cumberland and former parishioner of Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament.
Anita was born in Wilkes-Barre February 14, 1932 to Victoria and William Keating. She was the widow of L. Raymond Pryor and was preceded in death by a son Michael R. Pryor and a brother James A. Keating.
She lives on in the hearts of her surviving children; Patricia P. Skinner and husband Douglas P. of Pennington, NJ, Jeffrey W. Pryor and wife Patricia of Roanoke, VA, Lynn A. Pryor and husband Charles S. Dixon of Muncy, PA, Christopher J. Pryor of New Cumberland, Lori Pryor Barker and husband James P. of Camp Hill and Timothy A. Pryor of New Cumberland; a brother William J. Keating and wife Marita of Wilkes-Barre; a sister in law Kathryn Mitchell of Pittston, PA; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Gavin and Marley Skinner, Amanda and Cody Barker and Michael and Marie Pryor; a great granddaughter Bianca Skinner and was looking forward to another great grandchild due in March.
Her life will be celebrated through a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Tuesday, December 29, in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 am Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1303 Bridge St. New Cumberland. Burial will be on Wednesday, December 30, at 11:30 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
