Ann Louise Soder, 88, of Homeland Center, Harrisburg, and formerly of Boalsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on Monday, November 28, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Philipsburg on January 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Mary (Brilla) Moffatt. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles H. “Bud” Soder. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Lori S. Bauer (Jonathan) of Camp Hill, and Susan E. Soder of Mechanicsburg.
After high school, Ann was employed in retail sales and accounting. She later served as a lunch aide at the elementary school. Her greatest joy was her family. Ann loved to reminisce about her early married life spent in Alaska during Bud’s Air Force commission. She loved gardening, baking, playing the piano, attending music events, and traveling. Her favorite family trip was a Caribbean cruise celebrating the 50th anniversary of her marriage to Bud. She enjoyed many cultural and football events at Penn State. Ann faithfully attended church in State College and most recently enjoyed Homeland’s services with visiting ministers, choirs, hymn sings and bible study.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Homeland Center who became family and friends to both Ann and her family.
A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family and further details will be posted on Parthemore’s website. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Homeland Center, (www.homelandcenter.org) or Homeland at Home, (www.homelandathome.org), that provided hospice services.
