Ann Mays

Ann Mays, 89, formerly of New Cumberland, PA, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 in Brightview Westminster Ridge, Westminster, MD.
She was the retired owner/operator of Ann’s Beauty Shop and a clothing buyer for Esther S. Hempt Women’s Fashion, both in New Cumberland and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Ann was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Stjephan and Ljubica (Blagec) Posavec. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by seven brothers, Michael, Leopold, William, John, Steve, Charles and George Posavec.
She is survived by her husband Byron Reed Mays of Westminster, MD; her son Michael B. Mays and wife Karen of Hampstead, MD; two granddaughters, Shannon and Carlyn; siblings, Catherine Posavec of Alexandria, VA, Thomas Posavec of Harrisburg, PA, Peter Posavec of Halifax, PA, Paul Posavec and wife Louise of Camp Hill, PA and Mary Posavec of Camp Hill; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA 17070 with the Rev. J. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Viewing will be from 1 – 2:30 pm Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
Burial will be Friday, May 23, 2014 at 10 am in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Twp., PA.
