Anna Mary Hunsberger of Linglestown was called to her eternal home with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, June 8, 2015.
Anna was a picture of fortitude and discipline in her private life. Over these nearly 100 years of life, she set a high standard for her children and could make us laugh until we cried. We will especially cherish the past 11 years whereby Anna required 24 hour care. Her family lovingly cared for her in her home these many years with the excellent support of an extended "family" of nurses. Aside from the Lord Himself, our anchor has been Dr. Dudley Gordon, making home visits and being the picture of one who was called by the Hippocratic covenant. Our mother loved him like a son and he honored her with his diligence, intellectual prowess and a heart of love and service.
Anna entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family and the harmonious sound of her favorite hymns. To God be the glory for such a peaceful entry!
She was born August 20, 1916 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Barrish) Geigus. She was also preceded in death by a son, John J. and twin daughters, Susan and Christina.
She is survived by six sons, Arthur E. of Lemoyne, William T. and Robert F. of Linglestown, James E. of Scottsdale, AZ, Charles D. of Rockville, MD, and Richard A. Hunsberger of Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter, Pattricia A. (Sunny) Johnson (Joseph) of New Cumberland; three grandchildren, Joel, Julianne (Aaron), and Joseph (Sheila) and their daughter Kara Le Anne (Anna's great-granddaughter).
