Arlene B. Dougherty

Arlene B. Dougherty, 84, of New Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.

She always had a kind word for everyone she met, and she loved animals, taking in many strays throughout her life. Plus, she made “one hell of a Manhattan” according to her late husband.

Arlene was the widow of Austin C. Dougherty and was born in Lebanon to the late William E. and Minerva C. (Mull) Benninghoff. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Kevin and siblings, Mary, Richard and John.

She is survived by her sons, Bryan R. Dougherty and wife Evylon of Lewisberry and David and wife Laurie of New Cumberland; three grandchildren, Philip, Bryan, and Alicia; and five great grandchildren, Skylar, Alivia, Layla, Connor and Hadley.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
