Arthur R. “Artie” Dunkelberger, III, 50, of Etters , formerly of Camp Hill, AKA "The Rev Dr. Art" died Friday, June 7, 2013 in Mechanicsburg at the home of his brother.
He was a self-employed, independent contractor, jack of all trades, master of none. His motto: "I can fix anything but death and a broken heart." He was a member of American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland. He was in the U.S. Marine Core for a short time due to illness, but in his heart forever. He had a huge passion for racing, he raised exotic birds, he loved the shore, mainly fishing at Indian River Inlet, hunting, skydiving. He strived to live large, had many adventures, loves and tragedies. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and don't believe everything he told you. He was loved, hated, praised, and cursed by relatives and friends alike.
He was born March 17, 1963 in Camp Hill to the late Arthur R. and Addabelle Patricia (Black) Dunkelberger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles K. “Sonny” Yinger.
He is survived by his wife, Deidra "DeDe" Garnett of Etters; three children, Jennifer “Nikki” Cherry of Carlisle, Arthur R. "Ray" Dunkelberger, IV of York, and Laura Beth Thompson of York; two brothers, Bill Dunkelberger of Mechanicsburg and Michael Yinger of New Cumberland; a sister, Cathy Wagner of Camp Hill; two grandchildren, Nicholas Pryor and Cameron Dunkelberger; three stepchildren and five step-grandchildren, all of Jefferson City Missouri; two nieces and two nephews. He loved his wife, children "Racer, Lorzens, Jen" and family with his soul. A quote from Art "It's not good-bye, it's I'll see you later."
A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post 143, 214 Market Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070 June 16, 2013 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
