Athena Hays Beshore, 92, of Fairview Twp. died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at home.
A farm wife, she was a graduate of the former New Cumberland High School and Central Penn Business School. She was a member of Paddletown St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Etters for more than seventy-five years, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Green Valley Farm Women and volunteered with the Harrisburg Hospital Night Ministry.
She was born May 16, 1922 in Newberry Twp. to the late Dale and Minerva (Bare) Hays. She was also preceded in death by her husband E. Wayne Beshore and brother Glenn B. Hays.
She is survived by her children, Marvin (Anne Marie), Joy B. Dougherty, Jed (Sue) of Fairview Twp. and Kirby (Beverly) of Harrisburg; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and four step great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 9:30 until funeral services at 11am Saturday at Paddletown St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberry Twp.
