Barbara A. Blust

Barbara A. (Johnson) Blust, 79, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp. with her daughters at her side.

She was a 1960 graduate of Mechanicsburg Senior High School where she excelled in tap dance and as a majorette. Barbara was young at heart and enjoyed Tom Jones concerts, bike riding until the age of 70, traveling (especially to the beach and Disney World), reading, shopping and collecting Hummel figurines. She loved dancing and music, especially songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

Barbara was born in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Arnold) Johnson. She was the widow of Jacob W. Blust. They were married on a Christmas day and continued their honeymoon for more than 60 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Michael A. Blust and an infant sister Patricia A. Johnson.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Terrie A. Shuey (Todd) of Mechanicsburg and Jennifer E. Santarelli (Sean) of Marysville; her sister Kathy Henry (Dan) of Camp Hill and three nieces.

The family, again would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Sue, Carol and Sally for all of their loving care, time and talents they shared with both Barbara and Jacob.

A viewing will be held from 1 – 2 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland followed by a graveside service at 2:30 in St. Paul’s Lutheran (Stone Church) Cemetery, Wertzville Rd. in Enola.
