Barbara Louise Behney

Barbara Louise Behney, 87, of New Cumberland, passed away March 8, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Lydia (Risser) Snavely.

Since high school, she was an excellent athlete, playing field hockey and basketball. Later in life, she excelled in golf and skiing. Barb enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia, and the Caribbean among other places.

She was a strong and independent woman with a great sense of humor. She ran a small business for years and had many friends and hobbies. Plants and flowers were her passion. She delighted in taking care of the grounds at “Cozy Court” and up until recently, you could see her riding her lawn tractor often.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven J. Behney. Surviving are a daughter, Kelly L. Jacobs and a son Keith R. Behney (Sherri), eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Monday from 5 – 7 PM at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
