Barbara Ruth Carey, 85, of Camp Hill died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was a retired Graphic Artist from the former Pomeroy’s Department Store. She was a graduate of Cleveland Institute of Art, OH and Traphagen School of Fashion Design, NY. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill since 1962; Order of Eastern Star, Gridley Chapter 324 and Steadfast Chapter 479 with Fifty years of Faithful Service; Red Hat Society; AARP of Camp Hill; and Camp Hill Women’s Club. She loved traveling, was an excellent seamstress, and continued expressing her graphic art talent in retirement.
She was born April 29, 1929 in Punxsutawney to the late Paul and Alphild (Larson) Glatzert.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Dawn Selvig (Steven) of Draper, UT and Deborah Collins (Glen) of Colorado Springs, CO; a son, Ervin William Carey, Jr. (Amy) of New Cumberland; a sister, Karen Rainey (Glen) of Delaware, OH; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2pm until funeral services at 3pm Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
