Bonnie M. Bohenick, 76, formerly of Susquehanna Township, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Jerome and Dorothy (Smith) Heckman, born on November 15, 1948, in Harrisburg.
Bonnie was a 1966 graduate of Middletown Area High School and would go on to gain employment with the Commonwealth of PA. She worked for 25+ years as an administrative assistant with the Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) in Harrisburg.
While dating, and then early into their marriage, she and Tom enjoyed live music and going out to dance. She was the consummate hostess for friends and family, whether it was entertaining over the holidays or holding impromptu pool parties in the back yard—no matter the occasion, she always enjoyed having a good time (and made sure others did too!). She was a great supporter and role model for her girls, helping with whatever was needed and volunteering as a scout leader for their local Girl Scout and Brownie troops. Bonnie was the matriarch of the family and point-person for her and Tom’s social schedule. She’d do anything for anyone, but don’t be surprised if she also gave her two cents on the matter at hand. She baked cookies each Christmas and made it a point to send cards to everyone in her life for birthdays, milestones, or any occasion in between. Tom loved her with all his heart, and their family together brought her life’s greatest joys. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Surviving Bonnie is her husband and best friend of 51 years, Thomas F. Bohenick; her daughters, Dr. Carrie Bohenick Dudick (husband, Michael) of Broadview Heights, OH, and Lisa Bohenick (husband, Andrew Wilkinson) of Camp Hill, PA; grandchildren, Natasha and Gregory Dudick, Noah Brooks and Henry Wilkinson; as well as many nieces and nephews and an extensive network of friends and family who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Heckman.
Public services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with a viewing hour from 10AM until a funeral service begins at 11AM. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
