Brenda Louise (Shuey) Swanger, 76, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, February 17, 2025.
Born in Trevorton on December 17, 1948, Brenda was the daughter of the late John and Betty (Neidig) Shuey. A graduate from Trevorton High School. In 1970, Brenda married Jacob D Swanger, and the couple began their family.
Brenda spent most of her career as an Administrative Officer with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department, retiring after 20 years of service from the office of Catherine Baker Knoll. She also spent 15 years with Endata Inc., where she held the positions of Administrative Assistant and Customer Service Representative. While she enjoyed her professional life, Brenda often expressed that her greatest blessing was being a grandmother and great-grandmother to all her grandchildren.
In addition to her family, Brenda's faith was a central aspect of her life. A devout Christian, she was a dedicated member of Eberly’s Mill Church of God for over 40 years, where she sang in the choir until 2018.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jacob D Swanger; her son, Christopher S. Swanger (Holly) of Carlisle, her daughter, Rebecca Swanger of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Katelynn, Stephanie, Chloe, Mark, Caiden, and Brian (Jr.); five great-grandchildren, Ayden, Kaelynn, Hoyt, Aubrey and Gabriel (Gabe); and siblings, John Shuey (Diane) of Mechanicsburg, Susie Shumate (Tom) of Camp Hill, and Todd Shuey (Terri) of Mechanicsburg.
The family will receive visitors from 10AM until a funeral service begins at 11AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Eberly’s Mill Church of God, 115 Creek Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
