C. Vernon Sanders, Jr., formerly of Camp Hill, died February 18th, 2018, at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
He retired as Divisional Vice President of the former Dauphin Deposit Bank, Harrisburg. Vernon was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, Class of 1942; he was a member of Lowther Manor Lodge #781, F. and A.M., Camp Hill, as well as Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Forest No. 43. He was also a former member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church, Camp Hill.
Born on April 26th, 1924, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late C. Vernon, Sr. and Gladys S. (Barkdoll) Sanders. He was preceded in death by two wives, Georgia B. Sanders and Lillian B. Sanders.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas C. Sanders, and wife Carol, of Jensen Beach, FL, and David R. Sanders, and wife Gail, of Elkridge, MD; two daughters, Sharon Stowe, of Vista, CA, and Cindi Zimmerman, and husband Lonnie, of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Oliver Sanders, JoAnne Walchak, and Denise Wimberly; and two great grandchildren, Jaycie and Rylan. Also surviving is a niece, Diane Cartwright, and her husband, Reverend Ray Cartwright, of Camp Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, February 21st, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Carl Ford Peterson officiating. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to Wednesday’s memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Forest No. 43 (tallcedars.org), 2609 N. Front St, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
