Carl Michael Malinak, Jr., 72, of Shiremanstown, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Pinnacle Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was a retired teacher at Morris Knolls High School, Denville, NJ where he coached football, wrestling, softball and swimming. He loved coaching and was the Morris County Daily Record High School Swimming Coach of the Year for the 1983-84 swim season. Carl was a graduate of Mankato High School, Mankato, MN, class of 1961; Lyons College, Batesville, AR, class of 1967; a statistician for Cedar Cliff High School football, Camp Hill; a former member of the NEA and the NJEA; and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Carl was born in Taylor, PA to the late Carl M. and Marie D. (Prusaczyk) Malinak, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years Bettina L. (Huffines) Malinak; three daughters, Carla Michele Sacoman and husband Tom of New Cumberland, Tina Marie Malinak of Howell, NJ and Lori Diane Kelso and husband David of Aston, PA; two brothers, Roy Malinak of Fishkill, NY and Robert Malinak of Brick, NJ; and three grandchildren, Zachary and Bailey Anne Sacoman and Cadance Kelso.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St. New Cumberland, PA. Inurnment will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp. There will be no viewing or visitation.
