Carol Ann Encin, 77, died Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her home in Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill following a 3.5-year battle with cancer.
She retired as a Product Representative for Land O' Lakes - Purina Mills, Camp Hill. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1963 and has been a resident of Camp Hill since 1979. Carol was a very dedicated mother and friend who enjoyed gardening, making flower arrangements, decorating wreaths for every season, reading, and everything about the Christmas season. She was a beautiful soul who was a courageous warrior in her fight with cancer.
Born in Altoona on June 16, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Dorothy E. (Doebler) Slates. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark E. Encin and a brother, Charles E. Slates.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Jennifer E. and James Druckenmiller of Kansas City, MO; a nephew, Dave Slates; a niece, Sue Slates; and a great-niece, Brianna Iachini. Also surviving are her two beloved grand-puppies Dublin and Ozzy.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, January 9th in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. John R. Nicholas officiating. Burial will be in Blair Memorial Park in Altoona at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 10th.
A Viewing will be held 5 PM on Monday, January 9th until the time of services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to The Mark Encin Foundation for Melanoma Research at 10 Village Road, Camp Hill PA 17011.
