Carole M. Olmsted

Carole M. Olmsted, 76, of Camp Hill, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ passed away Thursday, January 18, 2016 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp.

She was a retired English as a Second Language Teacher from East Rutherford School District in NJ. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Rhode Island where she was a proud member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was an active member of Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill and was quite involved in local Theatre in Central PA with Theatre Harrisburg and Oyster Mill Playhouse. Before that, she was a member of the Studio Playhouse in Montclair, NJ where she directed, stage managed, and appeared in dozens of shows. One of her favorite things to do was to make people laugh when she was on-stage, and she will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and a smile that could warm even the darkest of moments. A true team player with an abundance of kindness and generosity, she will be greatly missed.

She was born on July 16, 1939 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Dominick A. Colacurcio and Mary Sunday (Reo) Colacurcio. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William. She is survived by three children, David J. Olmsted and Kimberly C. Olmsted of Camp Hill and Jonathan W. Olmsted and his wife Julie of South Plainfield, NJ; a sister, Elaine Kaiser of Passaic, NJ; and five grandchildren: Nicholas, Cameron, Jaxen, Jet, and Jaze.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, February 27th, at Eberly’s Mill Church of God, Camp Hill. Visitation will follow.

Carole always insisted that she be given flowers while she could appreciate and enjoy them, so in lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions be made to her church at 115 Creek Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
