Chad Salvaggio

March 23, 1967 — January 3, 2021

Chad Salvaggio, 53, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, with his family by his side. The son of Martha Salvaggio and the late Philip Salvaggio, he was born on March 23, 1967 in the Harrisburg Hospital.

Chad was an extremely loyal person and friend. Out of sincere love and the desire to "pay it forward," he went out of his way to help friends – whether it be connecting like-minded musicians, connecting friends with employment opportunities, advice on drums, or just "listening" to comfort someone through their challenges. Chad loved four things in life: his family, friends, making music, and his girlfriend, Susan. The music scene is where Chad found happiness, whether it be drumming with his bandmates (Nate Myers Trio), working with fellow stagehands, or traveling to New Orleans, where he had a deep love and “soul” connection to the city and its culture. He graduated from Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, and although he resided in Central PA all his life, he enjoyed traveling. Watching sports (Philadelphia Flyers and New Orleans Saints) on TV with his brother, Sal, was one of his favorite pastimes. He’s gone on to his next (and best) venue, playing his drums for the Lord, with his father by his side. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and extended entertainment family.

Surviving Chad is his mother, Martha Salvaggio; brother, Sal Salvaggio; girlfriend, Susan Behm; a very large extended family, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Salvaggio, whom he loved dearly.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a celebration of Chad’s life will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Chad’s name to Bethesda Mission, PO Box 3041, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
