Charlene Ann McFarland, 80, of Lower Allen Twp., Camp Hill, died Saturday, October 17, 2020, at her home surrounded by family.
In her lifetime, she worked as a waitress at places such as The Gazebo Room on 2nd and Locust Streets in Harrisburg and Harry’s Tavern in Harrisburg, as well as a dietary aide at Holy Spirit Hospital. As a younger woman, she enjoyed dancing and riding horses, and she loved spending time at the beach. She was extremely quick witted and an excellent cook. Family was her central focus. She was a loving daughter, mother and friend.
Born in Harrisburg on Monday, August 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Geraldine E. (Mailey) Gethouas and sister of the late Paul M. Gethouas.
Surviving are sons and daughters Deborah E. Warren of Harrisburg, Traci Lynn Russo of Camp Hill, Scott P. Lackey (Debra) of New Cumberland, and Clifford C. (Butch) McFarland (Jessica L.) of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Kierstin, Brayden, Tyler, Anna and Josie; four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Halle, James and Landon; and niece, Deneen and nephew, Paul.
Family will host visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 22 at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Service, New Cumberland.
