Charles E. “Chuck” Wilson, 74, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 in Harrisburg.
Chuck was born August 1, 1948 in Harrisburg, PA and lived most of his life in New Cumberland. He was the owner/operator of West Shore Imaging Systems, (Lemoyne) and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Forrestal as a fighter squadron technician. Chuck was a tenacious worker who could do or fix anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a loving father and had a big, beautiful family and many friends that meant the world to him. His mother always said, “Everybody loves Chuck.” He was charming and sweet and always the life of the party. Chuck was an excellent cook and made the best eggs benedict and hot tea. He enjoyed Westerns, especially those starring John Wayne. He loved Reese’s peanut butter cups, boating on the river, pepperoncinis, peanuts in the shell, broken-in jean shorts and the USA. He was an awesome Little League baseball coach and a proud member of the New Cumberland VFW and Legion Post 143.
Chuck left his birthday party on the night of August 1st surrounded by his children who will love and miss him always and will be forever grateful for all he gave them and taught them.
Chuck was born in Harrisburg, the son of Virginia Lee (Putt) Wilson of Harrisburg and the late Eugene Charles Wilson.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Jessi L. “Jet” McDermott (Michael) of New Cumberland, Charles E. “Chad” Wilson, Jr. (Heather) of New Cumberland and Gregory A. “Greg” Wilson (Dana Bell) of New Cumberland; siblings, Leslie Wilson ( Pat Wear) of Palmetto, FL, Holly Vowler (Rob) of Hummelstown, Mark Wilson (Jessie) of Mechanicsburg and Tricia Wootton (Ben) of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, A.J. McDermott, Hannah Wilson, Katie McDermott and Andrew Wilson; his former wife and friend, Nancy L. Carr; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 10:00am and funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland with Pastor Larry Colbert officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
