Charles J. "Chuck" Hutchison

February 27, 1955 — March 14, 2021

Charles J. “Chuck” Hutchison, 66, of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021.

He was a federal government retiree from the New Cumberland Army Depot, Fairview Twp. and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran; However, his favorite job was driving a school bus where he met many forever friends. Chuck was a devoted family man who adored his children and grandchildren. He was their biggest cheerleader and was “all-in” no matter what the event was - football, computer programming, plays and musicals, baseball, chorus, wrestling, band, robotics, orchestra, cheerleading, and softball. Chuck was a Boy Scout leader, a Brownie leader, and a Softball Coach.

He was a member of Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending his Sundays listening to the worship team and band. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending his summers at his home in the 1000 Islands, NY where he enjoyed time with his best friends, Dennis and Janice, and never missed “beer-thirty”. Winters were spent at Carmen Fusco’s facility training and getting ready for the Spring seasons with his grandchildren. He loved hunting, his cars, The Patriots, The Washington Nationals, and attending Senator’s games.

Chuck was born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, PA, the son of the late William and Jessie (Bietsch) Hutchison.

He is survived by his wife of more than 39 years, Susan L. (Klinger) Hutchison; children, Keith Bowerman and wife Mary of Lewisberry, Gerry Bowerman and wife Stacy of New Cumberland, and Angela Cook and husband William of Mechanicsburg; and six grandchildren, Logan, Grace, Ezra, Ariel, Jack, and Avan.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Baughman Memorial United Methodist Church, Third and Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. Dr. Edwin Green officiating. Masks and social distancing will be required. Light refreshments will be provided following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Chuck’s memory to the Carmen Fusco Pro Baseball & Softball Academy, 1660 Detwiler Drive, York, PA 17404.
