Charles P. “Phil” Lafferty, Jr. 76, of York Haven died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Harrisburg Hospital.
He was a retired Woodworking Instructor from PA Dept. of Corrections, Camp Hill Correctional Facility. Previously he was a Lumber Inspector for Lafferty & Co., Lemoyne. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland; Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, St Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish Council 8921; and published member of International Betta Fish Congress. He coached Red Land Baseball, Soft Ball, Little League Football, and American Legion Baseball. He was an avid golfer working at several local clubs.
He was born February 29, 1949 in Dover, DE to the late Charles P. and Margaret (Marker) Lafferty. He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen A. Lafferty.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Jeanne M. (Carricato) Lafferty; two daughters, Michele M Puryear of Elko, GA and Angela J. Friend of New Cumberland; two sons, Charles P., III (Melinda) and Mark J. (Lisa) both of Lewisberry; sister, Mary Catherine Wagner of Glendale, AZ; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30am Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11am Friday at St. Theresa Parish, New Cumberland. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Upper Allen Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the family to assist with final expenses.
