Cindy (Stambaugh) Turney, 68, of New Cumberland died peacefully Sunday at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 14, 1950 in Hanover to the late Ralph L. Stambaugh and Margie M. Deatrick Brenneman.
She was a retired Administrative Assistant for the former NCAS. A 1968 graduate of Northeasten High School, Manchester, she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. She volunteered at Red Mill Elementary School where she was affectionately referred to as Oma. Her life was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Cindy was loved by everyone who met her. She always had a smile on her face and lived life to the fullest. Those who knew her would agree that she was one of the most selfless, loving, thoughtful, compassionate, caring, and strongest women they knew. She always went above and beyond and would do anything for anyone. She consistently surprised everyone with her creativity, and she had the unique ability to make anyone feel comfortable in any situation. Simply put, Cindy made the world a better place.
She is survived by her husband, Terry M. Turney; daughter, Kristin A. Maniskas of Etters; son, Jonathan M. Turney (Jennifer) of Royersford; sister, Pamela Dubbs (John) of Finger Lakes, NY; sister-in-law, Sayre Turney of Lancaster; niece, Lisa Dubbs of Allentown; and three grandchildren, Zachary, McKenna, and Riley.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. A private inurnment for the immediate family will follow in the church columbarium. All guests are invited to attend a fellowship reception at the church following the Memorial Service.
