Clinton W. Hammond

Clinton W. Hammond, 95, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Country Meadows of West Shore, Hampden Twp.

He was a retired Major with the United States Air Force and also retired as an Air Force Recruiter working out of the former New Cumberland Army Depot, Fairview Twp. His greatest reward in his long military career was his membership in the 351st Bomb Group.

Clint was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Winford and Minnie (Bailey) Hammond. He was preceded in death by two wives, Florence J. (Jozwiak) Hammond and Betty (Hogg) Hammond.

He is survived by his son Clinton P. “Skip” Hammond of Harrisburg; a sister Elizabeth Baker of Cleveland, OH; three grandchildren, Gregory, Paula and Michele; nine great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family on a future date.
