Connie Faye “Moose” Muza, 65, of Fairview Township, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of Robert Muza, Sr. and the late June L. (Whitebread) Muza, born on February 16, 1957 in Harrisburg.
Graduating from Red Land High School in the early 1970s, Connie would go on to become a cook, working at several restaurants and food service businesses throughout the years. She started out at Luddy’s Seafood, York Haven, where she worked for many years before joining the food services team at Heritage Hills Golf Resort, York. From there, she was employed at Morgan’s Place, Harrisburg, and then Karn’s Quality Foods, New Cumberland. Though she rarely shared her culinary talents outside of work, she enjoyed what she did for a living and valued the friendships made.
But Connie, AKA “Moose,” was hardly defined by her career; it was the person she was, and how she loved those around her, that all will remember. She was a “big kid,” constantly treating and spoiling her nieces and nephew with camping adventures, football games in the back yard, visits with her parrot, Sebastian, and supporting them in all their scholastic and athletic endeavors. Jeeps and four-wheelers were some of her favorite toys, and the Christmas season lasted all year for Moose – the lights and decorations never came down, and her TV would be playing the holiday TV specials even in the hottest summer months. She became a Christian in her later years, and her love for God was evident in the way she treated others. She will be missed by all those who knew her – especially her loving family.
Connie is survived by her father, Robert Muza Sr. of Dillsburg; siblings, Jeaninne McNerney of New Cumberland, and Robert Muza Jr. (Tracy) of Etters; aunts, Ruthann Moody (Ray) of New Cumberland, and Joan Rudy (Frank) of Etters; uncle, Millard Whitebread (Kathy) of Etters; nieces, Amanda Grossman, Amy Tyson, Cortney McNerney and Kristin McNerney; a nephew, Brian Muza; and a slew of great-nieces and nephews.
A public viewing will be held from 1-2PM on Friday, January 13 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A funeral service will begin at 2PM in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Rolling Green Cemetery,
Camp Hill.
