Curtis L. Pegg, 70, of New Cumberland, died Friday, November 13, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
Born on May 18, 1950 in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Helen L. (Kurtz) Pegg. He was the widow of G. Beth (Larimer) Pegg.
Curt graduated from Pittsburgh Technical College with an Associate’s degree in Computer Science. After graduation he worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania eventually serving as the first Chief Technology Officer for the Commonwealth responsible for the oversight of Information Technology exceeding $1 billion per year. Following his retirement, he co-founded Bryn Mawr Alliance, LLC. continuing his love for advancing technology and providing subject matter expertise to his clients.
Curt had passion for music, playing the saxophone and keyboard. In his younger years was the organizer and leader of the band the Continentals. He had also been a part of the Johnstown College of Music Woodlands Ensemble and a member of the Johnstown musician’s union.
His interests included boating, traveling, trains, spending time with his grandkids and his Wednesday night poker games with “the boys”. Curt also enjoyed watching his daughter ride her horses and spending time at horse shows.
Surviving are his fiancé, Penny J. Withey; his daughter and her husband, Diana B. and Michael A. Unger of Dillsburg; two grandchildren, Sadie and Noah Unger; a step-daughter and her husband, Morgan A. and Shaun M. Rich of Carlisle; two step-grandchildren, Sophia and Lucas Rich; a sister, Delores (Donald) Orris of Northampton; a brother, Fred (Barbara Rager) Pegg of Davidsville; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 pm on Friday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Funeral Services will be private. Burial will be Monday at 1pm, Lloyd Cemetery in Ebensburg, PA.
