CWO3 George R. Brindle

CWO3 George R. Brindle born October 25, 1937, died January 31 at The Middletown Home. He served 35 years in the US Army, National Guard, Army Reserve, and retired from the 193rd Special Operation Wing, PaANG.

Among his Decorations are the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army, the Air Force and the Pennsylvania Commendation Medals, the Vietnam Service Medal w/3 devices, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the US Volunteer Service Medal. He was a Japanese Language graduate of the US Army Language and Intelligence Schools and served as an Intel/Security Specialist. 

A former Harrisburg Police Officer and Dauphin County Detective; he was the Grant Administer responsible for the formation of Criminal Investigation Division of the District Attorney’s Office and retired from the Security and Distribution Departments of Rite Aid Corporation. 

A Violinist, he was a former 17-year member of the Harrisburg Symphony, the West Shore and Monterey (CA) Symphony Orchestras.

He graduated from HACC and York College of PA and did graduate study at the Keeler Institute of Chicago and The University of Louisville, KY.

He was the son of George and Georgine (Hallman) Brindle of Harrisburg deceased and was predeceased by his brother, John C. Brindle, Sr., and stepdaughter Dolores Ann Liddick. 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Mary Carol (Deitz) Brindle; children Brian A, (Sonya) of Florida, Beth A. Vega of Maryland, Barton A. (Dottie) of Tennessee; stepson, Christopher L. DeHart (Joni) of Middletown; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Viewings will be from 5-7pm Tuesday with a Scripture Service at 6:45pm and 9:30-10:30am Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Private burial with military honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp.
