Cynthia A. “Cindy” Shade, 66, of Etters, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Timko) Sabo, she was born on May 31, 1954 in Daisytown, PA.
Cindy fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past eleven years, where she did what she could to further medicine by trying experimental treatments and drugs. Before her fight began, she worked for many years at Ashcombe Farm & Greenhouses, Mechanicsburg, where she carried out her passion for nurturing and caring for plants of all kinds. Family was everything to her, and she enjoyed the comfort of her own home. She loved nature, especially listening to the birds sing. She found cross stitching and crocheting to be relaxing, and she loved her cats and dogs.
She leaves behind her husband of 29 years, Brian G. Shade; her children, Joseph J. Shutsa III of Fitchburg, WI, and Kimberly A. Miller of Hershey, PA; a sister, Christine Sabo of Denora, PA; and a nephew, Mathew Greene of Belle Vernon, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth Hennessey.
A public graveside service will be held at 12PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
