Cynthia M. (Dailey) Hoover

December 12, 1956 — November 12, 2015

Cynthia M. (Dailey) Hoover, “Cindy,” 58, of Camp Hill, is healed, happy, and free at last, entering into heaven on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Under the care of Holy Spirit Hospital and Gentiva Hospice, she was comforted in her final days by her mother Janet A. (Ward) Dailey, daughter Jennifer E. Hoover-Vogel, son-in-law Michael A. Vogel, and beloved friend, Alice S. Cohen of Camp Hill.

Born on December 12, 1956, in Harrisburg to Richard A. Dailey and Janet, Cindy graduated from Central Dauphin East High School. Later she pursued and obtained licenses as a cosmetologist and real estate agent. She also took courses at Harrisburg Area Community College and owned and operated a telephone answering service. She spoke with fond memory of her childhood days as a swimmer and as a participant in her high school musical, The Music Man.

Her warm heart, generous spirit, and sweet smile were loved and appreciated by many. Her children, she said, were her greatest accomplishments; her grandchildren, her greatest blessings.

In her final hour, while the most beautiful afternoon sun graced her flawless face, Cindy found yet one last way to comfort her “baby girl.” Lying beside her, their hands joined together, her daughter discovered hidden curls at the nape of Cindy’s neck, reminding her of the story her mother would often tell her about the ringlets with which she had been borne.

Into Cindy’s ear, her daughter whispered that her father Richard, who preceded Cindy in death, was waiting for her, and asked her to tell him she loved him. A single breath later, she must have met his hand—for it was her last—finally reunited with those whom she adored beyond words.

In addition to her mother Janet; daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Michael, and four grandchildren, Cindy is survived by her son, U.S. Navy Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer Josiah R. Hoover, and daughter-in-law Kathy of Newport News, Va., and other family and friends too numerous to count but not forgotten.

A celebration of the beautiful gift of life that she was to this world will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank hospital and hospice staff for their kindness, comfort, and ease provided.

Favorite moments and memories with and of Cindy may be sent to the Vogel family, 1903 Logan Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
