D. Jean Lisse, 88, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Harrisburg Hospital, Dauphin County. She was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Carrie (Diffenderfer) John, born on May 31, 1935 in Williamson, PA.
A 1953 graduate of Chambersburg High School, she would begin employment with the PA Department of Highways before moving on to the Federal Bankruptcy Court, both located in Harrisburg. The remainder of her working years were spent as a clerk at CCNB, spending time at both the New Cumberland and Lemoyne branches.
Jean was an avid seamstress and found peace on the golf course. She enjoyed wintering with her husband in Little River and Myrtle Beach, both in South Carolina, and in St. Augustine, FL. She had a green thumb, and she was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, Harrisburg. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her late husband, Bob.
Surviving Jean are her children, R. Curtis Lisse of Loysville and Sondra L. Andrews of Phoenixville; two granddaughters, Julie and Allyssa Andrews; and siblings, Anna Mae Mills and Harold “Pete” John. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 68 years, Robert H.C. Lisse; siblings, Helen Keyser, Arthur John, Paul “Bud” John Jr., Ernest “Ernie” John, Howard “Whitey” John and Bruce “Tucker” John.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 10-11AM at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with a memorial service beginning at 11AM. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
