Dale Ammon Clemens, 99, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. He leaves behind his wife of 79 years, Mildred “Mickey” (Sheaffer) Clemens.
Clem was born on January 1, 1922 and was the first baby born in Sunbury, PA (upon being recognized as a city). He graduated from William Penn High School and would then go on to obtain his Associate’s degree from Central Penn Business College, Harrisburg (Class of 1948). Clem served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps and then transitioned to the private sector where he climbed the ranks at Brawley’s Distributing Company; he began as an accountant and would retire 30+ years later as Vice President and Secretary. He became a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lemoyne, on February 23, 1936, attending for eighty-five years.
Clem was preceded in death by his parents, Jeremiah P. and Puella (Swartz) Clemens; and two brothers, Rudolph and Harold Clemens. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dale A. Clemens Jr. (Nancy) and Jerry L. Clemens (Linda); five grandchildren, Chris (Teresa), Dan (Kim), Joe (Lacey), Natalie and Jerry II; six great-grandchildren, Luke, Gabby, Kate, Porter, Drew and Piper; a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30PM on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A memorial service will begin at 1:30PM, followed by interment in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
