As the sun set and the full moon appeared, Dale E. Ault, 83 of Camp Hill, PA entered into eternal life on Monday, June 20, 2016.
Born March 17, 1933 in Youngstown, Ohio, Dale was the only child of the late Howard C. and Grace W. (Jenkins) Ault. He was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown and served in the US Army Active Duty during the Korean War.
A registered pharmacist in 5 states, Dale graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1958. It was at ONU that he met his wife of 55 years Janet (Kuhn) and together they raised children Amy and Daniel.
Dale retired from CVS (Peoples Drug Stores) in 1998 after 40 years of service. His career began in Youngstown where he was a combination pharmacist and store manager, continued in Virginia Beach, VA and concluded in Central Pennsylvania as a District Manager – a position he held for 23 years until his retirement. After retiring, Dale enjoyed playing golf and worked in the pro shop at Armitage Golf Course and served on the Golf Advisory Board for Hampden Township.
Dale was the first chain store pharmacist elected as treasurer of the Ohio Pharmacist Association. He was also a member and 10 year finance committee chair of the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Association. He was a 2 time past president and Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg. He was a past president of the Executive Club of Central Pennsylvania as well as the Tri-County Association for the Blind. Dale was an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Dale, a 33rd degree Mason, joined the Blue Lodge in Youngstown in 1958 where he served as Master in 1969, and had joint membership in Lowther Manor Lodge in Camp Hill. He was a 50 year member of all York Rite bodies. Upon moving to Camp Hill he joined Scottish Rite Cathedral, where he served as Most Wise Master of Rose Croix; joined Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland and was active in Zembo Shrine where he served as business manager and Recorder; past president of both Cumberland County and Hershey Shrine Clubs; past president of Zembo Luncheon Club; past president of the Zembo Past Presidents Club and Past Masters Club; Impressario in the Royal Order of Jesters, and member of the Zembo Color Guard unit. He was the past chair of the annual Zembo KidsCare Family Expo which benefits patients at the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital for Children.
In addition to his wife Janet, Dale is survived by his daughter Amy of Camp Hill, PA and son Daniel, with wife Suna and Dale’s beloved grandchildren Hana and Adam all of Buford, GA.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Brookdale at Grandon Farms and Homeland Hospice for the care and support they provided to Dale during the past two months.
A viewing and visitation will be held Friday evening, June 24,2016 from 5-7pm at Parthemore Funeral Home 1303 Bridge Street New Cumberland, PA 17070 with a masonic service to follow at 7pm. A visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 9:30am followed by a celebration of life service at 10:30am at Camp Hill United Methodist Church, 417 S. 22nd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Interment will be at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to either the “Zembo Transportation Fund” which helps to provide transportation assistance to local children who are patients of the Shriners Hospitals for Children and forwarded to the Zembo Shrine Business Office at 2801 N. 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the Children’s Learning Center at the Scottish Rite Cathedral at 2701 N. 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
