Dale E. Wetzel

Dale Eugene (Pap) Wetzel, of New Cumberland, PA and Millsboro, DE, passed away on Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, at his home at the age of 82.

He was born in Lavelle, PA on May 28th, 1937, and was the son of the late Clarence Wetzel and Viola (Quinton) Wetzel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Wetzel.

Dale retired from the PA Department of Agriculture after 31 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, gardening, and boating. He was known for being an extremely hard worker up until the day he died. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of Mary Mother of Peace Parish, Millsboro, DE. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Elk’s, Moose, and Lion’s Club.

Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jean (Morgan) Wetzel; daughter June (Wetzel) Beekler and son in law James Beekler; son Dale Wetzel and spouse Pam Hamilton; grandchildren Morgan (Beekler) Hanawalt and husband Jeremy Hanawalt; Meagan Beekler and Fiancé Luke Grice; Matthew Beekler and wife Kasey (Geesaman) Beekler; Dylan Wetzel; Sarah Wetzel; and Hannah (Wetzel) Bahret; great grandchildren Hailey and Jameson Hanawalt, and Kylie Beekler.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
