Dale Richard “Dick” Thompson, 92 of New Cumberland, formerly of Euclid, OH died Friday March 29, 2019 at his home.
A WWII Army Veteran, he was a retired Ground Water Geologist from Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources. He graduated from Euclid Shore High School, Euclid, OH; received his BA from Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH; and Masters from Miami University of Ohio, Oxford, OH.
He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill; Theta Chi Fraternity; National Water Well Assoc.; Assoc. of Engineering Geologists; American Institute of Professional Geologists; Harrisburg Area Geological Society; Charter Member of National WWII Museum, New Orleans, LA; and Central PA Friends of Jazz. He enjoyed music, gardening, sports, and travel.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Thompson; two daughters, Elaine Zeiders (Mark) of Dillsburg, Sally Strohecker (John) of Landisburg; brother, William Thompson (MaryLou) of Cincinnati, OH; and three grandchildren, Steven and Dan Roberts, and Jessica Strohecker.
Private burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
Visitation will be from 10am until memorial services at 11am Saturday at Christ Presbyterian Church, Camp Hill.
