Daniel David Rush, 52, of Lemoyne, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Derry Twp. Born on May 9, 1971 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was the only child (of 10) to have been born overseas.
Daniel was a talented artist and athlete in his youth, graduating from St. Helena High School, Bronx, NY (Class of 1989). He would serve in the US Navy for 6.5 years and attain the rank of Machinery Repairman 2, spending much of his time aboard the USS LPD-4 Austin and USS LPD-12 Shreveport. Daniel found fulfillment in his military service and also the years spent working for (and alongside) his father in construction. He was a New York Yankees fan and rooted for the Dallas Cowboys all his life.
Surviving Daniel are his daughters, Jessica and Ashley Rush, both of Harrisburg; grandson, Kayden; father and stepmother, Deacon James Rush and Marcia Rush; siblings, Ellen “Tina” Diaz (Eddie), James Rush (Robyn), Julia Ehring, Steven Rush (Leomarys), Anthony Rush (Jennifer), Paul Rush (Jill), Tara Holness (Mark), and Kevin Rush (Sonia); and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Molly (McKnight) Rush, and a brother-in-law, Richard Ehring.
A public viewing will be held from 9-10AM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM, directly across Bridge Street at St. Theresa Catholic Church. A committal service begins at 12:30PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to offset funeral expenses.
