Darcy R. DiMatteo (Sterner), 50, of Etters, transitioned to eternal life on November 22, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Darcy, known for her kind heart, enjoyed swimming, the beach, gardening and the outdoors. Her sons were dearest to her heart.
Darcy retired as the Director for the West Shore Senior Citizens Center, New Cumberland and was formerly employed at the Mechanicsburg Senior Citizens Center, and the Messiah Lifeways Fitness Center in Mechanicsburg. She was also a former swimming instructor at the West Shore Natatorium at Red Land High School
Born on August 23, 1968, in East Pennsboro Twp., she was the daughter of Jai A. and Mildred L. (Jackson) Sterner of Duncannon.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her husband, Michael R. DiMatteo; her beloved sons, Andrew M. and Anthony J. DiMatteo of Etters; a sister and her husband, Jodi A. and Edward M. Marsico, Jr. of Paxtonia; an aunt and uncle, Dorothy Jo Sterner and Frank Pryor of Lewisberry; four nephews and a niece.
A celebration of her life service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, November 29 at Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
