David A. Stewart, 92, of Newberry Twp., Dover, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 surrounded by his family.
He retired as the owner/operator of the former Stewart Estimating Incorporated, Lewisberry; a Canadian Army Veteran of WWII; a member of Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland; The Valley Grange, #1360, Lewisberry; Red Land Senior Center, Lewisberry. David enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and was a former Boy Scout Leader. Born on January 29, 1925, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Alexander J. and Laura (McRae) Stewart.
He was the widower of M. Margaret Barclay Stewart and was also preceded in death by his son, D. Scott Stewart and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, CoraEtta J. "Connie" Stewart; two sons, Daniel B. Stewart and wife, Ann, of New Cumberland, and Kevin A. Stewart of Lewisberry; a daughter and her husband, Wendy E. and Ron A. Swartley of Steelton; a grandson, Anthony David Stewart of Los Angeles, CA.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday in Fairview Bethel Church of God, New Cumberland, with Pastors Dan Masshardt and Eugene B. Hockenberry officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Bethel Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church.
