David P. Walsh

David P. Walsh, 85, of Etters, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

He was born November 22, 1932 in Jamestown, Rhode Island, the youngest son of the late John Elliott and Pauline (Boone) Walsh.

David left Jamestown, RI after high school for college at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He was a true Gators fan and enjoyed watching them play football. He started working as an engineer for General Waterworks in Miami, Florida and later in Winter Park, Florida. He and his family moved to Skowhegan, Maine in 1974 to manage the 19 water companies in the state. He moved to Etters, Pennsylvania in 1981 to take on new responsibilities for the water company where he retired in 1995 while still young enough to enjoy life.


He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He truly enjoyed golfing and leaving the cold winter for a few months in Florida. He was a faithful member of the Brandywine Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Del of Etters; two children, Linda Walsh of Skowhegan, ME and David Walsh of Etters; two siblings, John (Bud) of Jamestown, RI and Patricia Preiss of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Christopher Walsh, SSG, of Kentucky and Andrew Morin of Maine; and two great grandchildren, Isaiah Morin of Maine and Addison Walsh of Kentucky.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m, Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 932 Church Road, York, PA. There will be a celebration of life following the service.
