Dawn M. Rudinski

July 4, 1957 — August 25, 2017

Dawn M. Rudinski, 60, of Lemoyne, passed peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017, at West Shore Hospital, Hampden Twp. with family by her side.

She was the Senior Community Advocate for Central Harrisburg for Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. Dawn was an avid traveler and enjoyed playing pool in various leagues, and a member of V.F.W. Post #143, New Cumberland. Born on July 4, 1957, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Janice M. (Harsch) Rudinski. She was also preceded in death by her loving partner of 25 years, Virginia L. "Ginny" Culp.

Dawn graduated in 1975 from South Williamsport Area High School where she participated in the band. After graduation, she was employed at her parents’ business, “Fran and Jan’s Place.” She enjoyed playing softball at this time of her life and became employed at Hope Enterprises. This was the start of her advocacy towards the rights of persons with intellectual developmental disabilities. From Hope Enterprises, she moved to the Harrisburg area where she continued her career in human services by taking employment with The Center for Industrial Training. She took her position at her current employer in the mid 1990’s. She went on to obtain her Master of Human Services from Lincoln University. Dawn dedicated her life to human services throughout the State of Pennslvania.

Surviving are two brothers, Rob Rudinski of South Williamsport, and Michael S. Rudinski (Claire) of Bowie, MD; her two cats, Zack and Chance.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
