Dillon Michael Jones

Dillon Michael Jones, 24 of Etters, died Sunday, September 4, 2016, in Newberry Twp.

Born on September 11, 1991, he was the son of Tammy L. (Slusser) Jones of Etters and William H. Jones of Mechanicsburg. Dillon attended West Shore School district schools and graduated from Red Land High School in 2009. Dillon enjoyed participating in many sports growing up such as hockey, soccer, baseball and his favorite, skateboarding/longboarding. Dillon was an avid music fan. He learned to play guitar and loved attending a wide range of festivals and live music shows in the company of friends that he loved dearly. Some of Dillon’s other favorite activities were hiking, camping, playing video games, any outdoor games or activities, playing with his dog, Sammy; and spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his brothers, Dustin W. of Etters, and Gavin O. of Camp Hill; his maternal grandparents, Priscilla and Michael Wharton of York Haven; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Jones of Mechanicsburg; a nephew, Dustin M. Jones and a niece, Anelle J. Jones; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Viewing will be held from 1-3 PM with Funeral services being held immediately after at 3 PM on Sunday, September 11th at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services in New Cumberland. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF), a foundation that supports public awareness efforts and research grants furthering the medical care and support networks of those affected by brain aneurysm, AVM, and other vascular malformations of the brain. These efforts are in line with Dillon’s wishes to help those in similar situations to his brother, Dustin.
