Donald H. Walkemeyer

Donald H. Walkemeyer, Jr. 76, of Dover died Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at his sister’s home in Lemoyne.

He was a retired Machinist from Caterpillar, Inc. An enthusiast, he loved his Camaro, “pick-em-up trucks,” and was a member of Keystone Tri-Five Classics Chevy Club. He enjoyed diners, wood turning, carpentry, German Shepherds and Pomeranians. He was fascinated by history, especially researching the Walkemeyer Family and Harrisburg “back in the day.” He adored his kids and grandkids.

He was born May 28, 1945 in Harrisburg to the late Donald and Helen (Winter) Walkemeyer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol and sister, Jane Barger.

He is survived by his son, Heath of York; daughter, Heather Schaeffer (Jon) of Wernersville; step-son Paul Hadfield of Decatur, IL; sister, Michele Krebs (Alfred) of Lemoyne; brother, Joel (Joan) of Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren, Tyler Walkemeyer, Hayden and Jacob Shaeffer; Ava Hadfield; and, many loving and supportive nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10am until funeral services at 11am Friday, 2/25 at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Abilities Fitness Center, 3933 Perkiomen Avenue, Suite C, Reading, Pennsylvania 19606. It is an all-inclusive fitness center for people with special needs, like Don’s grandson Jacob.
