Donald L. “Bucky” Thomas, 90, of Lewistown, previously of New Cumberland died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
A self-employed Cabinet Maker, he was an original member and owner of Old Smokey Hunting Camp, established in 1954, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Life member of North American Hunting Club; and past member of VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland. Bucky was a loving father and proud grandfather. He will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and impeccable craftsmanship.
Bucky was born June 19, 1931 in Lemoyne to the late Ralph Knap and Mildred (Steininger) Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Fox; sister, Doris Strahl, mother of his children, Dolores Thomas, and second love, Betty Bonsell.
He is survived by his daughters, LaVonne M. Waters (Barry) of Jacksonville, FL and Marcee L. Shelton (Robert) of Lewistown; son-in-law, Gary Fox of Aberdeen, MD; four grandchildren, Brooke Reynolds (Joe), Ashlee Dugan (Erin), Morgan Miller (Kevin) and Paige Grab (Tony); and five great-grandchildren, Gabriella; Ashton; Laney; Journey; and Remi.
Visitation will be from 2pm until memorial services at 3pm Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
