Donald L. Eichelberger, 85, of Duncannon, formerly of New Cumberland died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by loving family.
An Army Veteran he served in the Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean War, he was a retired Switching Equipment Technician from Verizon. He was a graduate of the former New Cumberland High School. He was a lifelong hunter and avid Spring Gobbler hunter. He was a member of Wild Turkey Federation of America, Ducks Unlimited, Carlisle Fish and Game, Bell Telephone Pioneers, American Legion, Life member of the International Sled Dog Club and First President and Race Marshall of the Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club.
He was born May 12, 1929 in Camp Hill to the late Maurice and Mildred (Desenberger) Eichelberger.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Chesney) Eichelberger; daughter, Dawn M. Earnest (Adam L., III) of Duncannon; brother, Robin D. of New Cumberland; two nephews, Brian Eichelberger of Lewisberry and Christopher Mahek of Newark, DE; niece, Tina Walsh of Wilmington, DE; great-niece, Beth Maida; and beloved German Pinscher Cherokee.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
