Donald R. Koscienski, 70, of Newberry Twp., Etters, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot but previously worked as Director of Maintenance for AMP, Inc. in their flight department. He also worked for Air East in Johnstown, PA, and USAir in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Don enjoyed anything that had to do with aviation, from large passenger jets to being an avid RC modeler. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland.
Born on August 10, 1947 in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Roman J. and Catherine (Medvic) Koscienski. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carol S. (Mann) Koscienski; his son, David R. and wife, Melanie A. and two grandsons, Wesley and Justin Koscienski, all of Abilene, TX, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Koscienski, wife of his late brother, Raymond, Lewisberry, PA. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Ron Mann and wife, Jean, of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, with the Rev. Michael McFadden as Celebrant. Private inurnment will be held in Abilene, TX.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14 in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
