Donald R. Wiebel

Donald R. Wiebel, 58, of New Cumberland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Pinnacle Health Harrisburg.

He was a Corrections Officer with State Correctional Institute, Camp Hill; an Army veteran; and a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Cumberland. Don was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and the #1 fan of Central PA Thunder Softball.

Don was born in Scranton, PA to Geraldine (Szeles) Wiebel of Carlisle and the late Donald Wiebel. In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by brothers Gary and Jimmy.

He is survived by his wife of more than 18 years, Anne E. (Sim) Wiebel; his children, Donald R. Wiebel and wife Megan of Steelton and Callie E. Wiebel, at home; siblings, Ellen Baker of FL, Donna Dymond, Dale Wiebel and Billy Wiebel, all of Tunkhannock and Gene Wiebel of Mechanicsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 530 Bridge St. New Cumberland with the Rev. Elaine M. Dent, his pastor officiating. Viewing will be from 5-7 pm Tuesday in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fairview Twp.
