Donald Spero Branoff, 86, of Enola and formerly of Steelton and New Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Twp.
He was retired from the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, formerly White Hill Prison and had earlier owned and operated several Harrisburg area restaurants. Donald was a Marine veteran of the Korean War, a graduate of Steelton Highspire High School and was a long time lot holder in Ferry Boat Camp Ground, Liverpool. Additionally, he was a member of Shiremanstown First Church of God.
Donald was the widower of Bertha Marie (Stehman) Branoff and is survived by his sons Donald of New Cumberland and James of Enola; siblings, Sam of Fort Worth, TX, Helen Gustin of Englewood, FL, Kathleen Branoff of Harrisburg, Judith Craig of Camp Hill, Spero Branoff, Jr. of Lewes, DE and John Vasiliades of Camp Hill; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and his longtime canine companion Sammy. Donald was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Andre and a sister Sonya Mioff.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewing will be from 10 – 11 am Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
