Donna Butler Taylor Peters

August 4, 1929 — July 20, 2022

Donna Butler Taylor Peters, 92, formerly of Camp Hill died July 20, 2022 at Harmony at West Shore, Mechanicsburg.

She was a 1947 graduate of Masontown High School, where she was a cheerleader, and a member of the National Honor Society and the Glee Club. During her high school years, she was a member of Uniontown Assembly 15, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls where she served as Worthy Advisor and was awarded the Grand Cross of Color at the PA State Grand Assembly. After high school, she joined the Order of the Eastern Star and worked as a bookkeeper for Franklin Furniture Company in Uniontown. In 1957, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida to marry her hometown sweetheart LT Richard C. Peters and begin her new life as a Navy bride. After her husband’s retirement from the Navy in 1959, they relocated to Camp Hill so that her husband could establish his dental practice. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she attended services for over sixty years. She enjoyed singing and music, quilting, and craft making. But her greatest love was family - her husband, children, grandchildren, and dogs.

She was born August 4, 1929 in Masontown, PA to the late Edwin Judson and Esther (Butler) Taylor, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Colman Peters, DDS; and brothers, Edwin J. Taylor, Jr. and William B. Taylor.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane Peters McMullen (Roy) of Camp Hill; a son, Eric Richard Peters of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Nolan Richard McMullen of Lemoyne, Justine Taylor McMullen of New York, NY, and Roy James McMullen, III (Stephanie) of Lebanon; two great-granddaughters; and sister, Norma Bell of FL.

Private interment services were held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, with visitation immediately afterwards in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, https://www.trinitycamphill.org/ Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, https://humanesocietyhbg.org/ or the charity of one’s choice.
