Doris Jean Cocklin

Doris Jean Cocklin, 92, of South Middleton Twp., Carlisle, died Friday, December 29, 2017, at UPMC Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

A 1943 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, she retired as a supervisor for the former United Telephone, Carlisle. Doris was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle, and formerly attended Newville Church of the Brethren with her late husband, Bob. Some of the things that she enjoyed were sewing, reading, knitting and crocheting. Born on December 3, 1925, Doris was the daughter of the late Samuel C., Sr. and Eva K. (Askin) Anglin. She was the widow of Robert L. Cocklin and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Elaine Cocklin McCollough, and a brother, Samuel C. Anglin, Jr.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Ron and Pat Cocklin of Clarkesville, GA; a daughter and her husband, LuAnn and Scott Ferguson of Hickory, NC; three grandsons, Doug McCollough, Jeff McCollough (Kim), and Lee Cocklin; three great-grandchildren, Carson, Nolan, and Lacey McCollough.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Kevin C. Stout. Private burial will be in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingston.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Wednesday.
